Laboratory Responsible

The Chief Laboratory at Webuild will manage and oversee all laboratory activities related to quality control and material testing for the construction project. This role involves supervising laboratory staff, managing testing procedures, ensuring regulatory and technical compliance, and maintaining smooth communication with project teams. You will ensure that all tests—such as concrete, aggregate, and earthwork testing—are performed to the highest standards to meet both project specifications and regulatory requirements.


Laboratory Management:

Lead and manage all laboratory activities, ensuring efficient performance of tests on materials such as concrete, aggregates, and earthworks, in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Ensure that all tests adhere to European standards, industry best practices, and project-specific regulations. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of a robust quality assurance system in line with internal policies and external regulations.

Technical Supervision:

Approve and supervise the preparation, execution, and analysis of laboratory tests. Validate test methods and ensure compliance with technical standards relevant to the project.

Team Leadership & Training:

Manage laboratory technicians and assistants, providing training, guidance, and supervision. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure that testing procedures are performed accurately and efficiently.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

Review, analyze, and interpret test data. Prepare and present detailed technical reports to the project management team, highlighting any issues or deviations from standards and suggesting corrective actions when necessary.

Coordination with Site Teams:

Act as the primary point of contact between the laboratory and the construction site. Ensure that test results and technical documents are communicated clearly and on time to site engineers and other stakeholders.

Sample Management:

Establish and maintain an effective sample management system to track and manage all materials for testing. Ensure proper documentation and storage of samples.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols within the laboratory environment to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Laboratory Equipment Maintenance:

Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and functional. Work closely with procurement teams to manage inventory and order necessary equipment and supplies.
