Quantity Surveyor – LEAN CONSTRUCTION

This job description outlines the key responsibilities and qualifications for the role of Quantity Surveyor in Lean Construction Department, highlighting the reporting relationship to the Lean Construction Manager. 

Responsibilities

  • Measuring and valuing the work done on site day-to-day,
  • Following lean procedure linking the quantities with look ahead plans,
  • Monitoring production on site including subcontractors, construction progress and material needs, including any changes which may impact execution,
  • Calculating production rates for executed quantities to create an estimated achievable project timeframe,
  • Preparing reports daily with graphs detailing production on site and progress for Lean Manager,
  • Making projections with lean principles to optimize resource allocation and reduce non-value-added activities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to assess cost-saving opportunities through value engineering without compromising project quality or scope,
  • Establish and track productivity, cost savings, and project timelines, ensuring alignment with Lean goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with exposure to Lean construction practices.
  • Certifications: Professional membership (RICS or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Construction methods is an advantage.
